01design designed Flytalk, a multimodal conversational solution for airline passengers, enabling seamless access to flight information, personalized assistance, and in-flight services through natural language and visual interaction. Air travel is a complex experience where information, timing, and comfort must coexist. Flytalk reimagines this dynamic by transforming flight communication into a human-like conversation. Passengers can ask, navigate, and act naturally - by voice or touch - while the system adapts to context, language, and intent. 01design envisioned an experience where technology fades into clarity, empowering airlines to connect with passengers in real time, intuitively and empathetically.
Challenges
The main challenge was to simplify the passenger journey while integrating diverse data sources - flight status, seat services, entertainment, and crew assistance - into a single conversational interface. Early prototypes risked overloading users with information. We needed to design a system that felt effortless, understood intent, and spoke the traveler’s language across multiple touchpoints and environments.
Solution
We created a multimodal conversational ecosystem combining voice interaction, visual feedback, and adaptive AI. Flytalk can assist passengers in real time - offering updates, recommendations, and support - whether onboard, at the gate, or during transit. Through a context-aware design and a minimal, elegant interface, the system translates complex operations into smooth, natural exchanges. The result: a connected experience that brings calm, clarity, and comfort to modern air travel.
